Dr. Aesook Moon has been a collaborative pianist of the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University since 2009, where she accompanies voice and instrumental students. She received her undergraduate degree in organ performance from the Seoul Presbyterian Seminary and a master’s degree from Hanyang University in Seoul, Korea. She also earned her second master’s degree in organ performance at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. In 2006, she earned a doctor of musical arts degree in organ performance at the University of North Texas. While in Texas, she won the first prize and the best hymn playing award in the William C. Hall Organ Competition. Prior to coming to Columbus, Dr. Moon was an adjunct organ instructor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and has served as organist for First-Centenary United Methodist Church in Chattanooga, TN, First United Methodist Church in Dothan, AL and St. Luke United Methodist Church, Columbus. She also has been played many solo organ recitals and accompanied several choirs. Dr. Moon also currently serves as Associate organist/choirmaster for Trinity Episcopal Church in Columbus.
