Joseph Golden grew up in rural East Texas. He is a conductor, composer, organist, Jazz keyboardist and voice teacher. He holds BM and MM degrees from the University of North Texas. Before he was called to Trinity Church in 1983, he was the Associate Organist/Choirmaster at The Church of Saint John the Divine in Houston, Texas.
In addition to his church responsibilities, he is Professor of Music in the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University, where he was Director of Opera and Musical Theater for 30 years. 2022 marks his 50 th year in professional church work.
