About Us

Building a Spirit-empowered community that serves and celebrates Christ.

Trinity’s Mission Statement

Since 1834, Trinity Episcopal Church has been an active community of faith in downtown Columbus, Georgia.

We are a vibrant congregation with a rich history. As the city of Columbus continues to grow and change, we look forward to our common future as we welcome new members into our parish family.

Our congregation is a part of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, a group of 104 worshipping communities in Middle and North Georgia. We also belong to the nationwide Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion.

In its beliefs and practices, the Episcopal Church follows the via media or middle way. Our identity is both catholic and reformed, with a shared commitment to liturgical and sacramental traditions; the ministries of bishops, priests, deacons, and laypersons; and guidance from the Holy Scriptures and from prayer. Whether or not we can agree on a particular topic, Episcopalians are motivated by our baptismal covenant to “seek and serve Christ in all persons” and to “respect the dignity of every human being” (BCP 304).
